In 2003 Jill J. Burns, co-founded The Fire Works Clay Studios in Worcester, MA. A gas fired car kiln and a suite of artists' studios was built in an old sprinkler factory. The studio was equipped with gas and electric kilns, glaze lab, slab roller, extruder and photo area. Ceramic artists were invited to use the facility, and a ceramic community was created. The Fire Works is located in the character filled Rockwood Sprinkler Factory on Harlow Street in Worcester, MA. It’s a big old building with an eclectic mix of artists and small businesses. |
